technology and the feminine v

book of qlōnq

woman will rise because of the strength of the force now in her, but this rise is not progress -  if by progress we mean an increase in anything we usually identify with what we call the good, whether happiness, peace, or pleasure. woman is as full of good and evil as man. despite the claims of utopians, her rise is not a betterment of humanity - rather, it is only that her configuration of good and evil is necessary - man’s particular configuration has exhausted itself. woman rises through the feminine’s full inhabitation of her, but it is technology - the feminine’s erotic partner - that facilitates its residence, even as it is the feminine that entitles technology’s world

meanwhile, man needs to maintain the illusion of his subject status rather than the truth of his being an object of the two forces of which he is an intermediary. the longer he maintains this illusion, the more he works to enhance technology and the feminine. he might become a force unto himself again if he broke the illusion and gave himself over to his object status, but he does not have the strength yet - he still has much to absorb that he does not know. man continues to need to believe that he is the source of power rather than a channel through which the larger forces flow - his need to believe is in direct proportion to the absurdity of the belief, an absurdity that continues to grow, propelling him. his belief is the gas he continually fills himself with to keep the machine of his body and mind moving

woman too identifies herself with power, and while the identification is strictly speaking false, it for a time is true - so we, in order to live in our time, accept her identification as truth and identify her with the feminine. but man’s identification is from all measures wrong, for force has deserted him

man is the constructed tool by which he is defeated. yet he could not defeat himself without the impetus of technology and the feminine. they are the forces that drive him to the extremities of outer and inner, circumference and circle, that compel him to build and fall to his knees in darkness, that as they increase in force and visibility make him more a tool and so hasten his demise

neither technology nor the feminine consciously plan man’s disappearance - it is man who plans and falsely believes in the superiority of his methods, his conscious will. technology and the feminine are the greater forces because they do not will, and yet their natures are fulfilled

man yields, but cannot say he yields. he is the slave animal, but the slave who needs to think that he is master - in this contradiction between appearance and reality is his uniqueness. the truth of man cannot be spoken - by man because he is weak, by woman because she lacks the nature to speak the truth of man, by technology because it has no tongue

as the circumference of reality expands through technology’s virile growth, two corollary things happen - reality’s outer reaches get further from the core of existence, resulting in an increase of the necessary spiritual distance to travel to erotic unity - and the overall area of reality’s circle - stuffed with the particularities of life and death (bodies, ideas, things) - contains more mass to be negotiated - with this increasing distance and mass, man can neither traverse the distance alone - he does not even know the way any more - nor absorb the immense number of particularities between reality’s circumference and centre

man’s home is simultaneously the circumference and the centre of the circle, but nowhere in between. he is wholly dependent on the structures that connect reality’s outer and inner limits - structures once mirrored within - but now that their image is without, he becomes nothing, as he in himself is reduced to the circle’s circumference and core. he becomes nothing because reality’s circumference is boundaryless and thus infinite, and its centre is bottomless and thus also infinite. without technology and the feminine, man is pulled in two opposite directions - both which have no end - and so is ripped in half

but technology and the feminine prevent man’s ripping and consequently bind him and the world. through this binding, both technology and the feminine become sacred. this is why the past myths have had to die - they presented man sufficient - perhaps with his god sufficient, but still a whole. the past myths have died, but myth is hardly dead - myth follows the sacred as surely as death life. the new myths will hardly resemble the old, however - they will adapt themselves to the demands of the new sacred. to glimpse a foreshadowing of the new myths, don’t examine the strictures of the old ones - man and his gods - but rather examine technology and the feminine, not in isolation, but in erotic tension with each other

the new myths are being formed as we live, from the forge of the dark coupling of technology and the feminine. we live according to the shape of their desire

technology and the feminine iv

book of qlōnq

man no longer defines anything - everything has been defined by him and independently thrives as a named object. the naming function has fled from man through saturation and excess - he does not now know what to do with his purpose gone and every object screaming its definition back at him. the arrow has turned, today pointing at the pointer - man lives in the image of his will and is defined by his definitions

man’s two traditional objects of definition refuse him. god is no longer available to be defined and woman increasingly ignores man’s definition of her, choosing her own world against man’s reality. he cannot define himself, for he is nothing and soon gets lost in that inner, empty, borderless, lightless land. he convulses in terror and looks away. instead, he pours his energy into naming technology, frantically filling it with language to hide his emptiness. but technology laughs behind its molten veil - it knows it was defined long before man’s desperation, his frenzied definitions simply delaying the inevitable confrontation with his nameless night

but what about woman’s partner? not her physical partner, which continues to be man - his remaining physicality a tool between woman’s flesh and the will of his master - but her equal force in the world of energy? her partner, like her, is silent about its feelings. they are both silent because of the ambiguity of their natures - woman because she is that way and so does not need to speak it, technology because it has been manufactured that way by man to take the burden of ambiguity he could not bear. so woman and technology find each other equal in the weight they carry and come together in their struggling, heated love, exchanging power

man’s future role is to serve appearance - the flesh of the feminine, the physical environment of technology. he serves appearance through disappearing - the only way appearance will accept service - his role a channel, allowing current to flow between two greater forces. the erotic relationship of technology and the feminine is consummated through man. he is necessary for their copulation, the physicality making possible their union

woman no longer takes man seriously, other than in terms of how he can supply her with pleasure. he is no longer a threat to her - he has placed the force of threat, once within, within technology. thus man no longer has confidence in himself, as his confidence historically was based on his being a threat - any confidence he still has derives from technology and the feminine. he becomes a node between these forces that supply the vital fluids of the species. he has nothing left to say or do in himself, not necessarily because he is incompetent, but because he is depleted of his natural options and only has technical ones left. all he can do is fit into what exists, while saying to himself and society that what exists he creates. technology -  his hidden embryo now given birth - and the feminine do not argue with him - he interprets their silence as agreement that he still is creator

the gender that is an extension of the environment it lives in is the gender that is the negative charge against the other’s positive. when humanity lived in nature, woman was at home in it and man felt out of place - she was the negative charge against man’s positive. he clambered to build an environment of his own, one which now dominates the earth. in this act, he unwittingly traded places with woman - she is now at odds with her environment and he is at home. what he did not realize in his manufacturing was that the gender native to its environment merges with that environment and disappears. so man, being at home, becomes negative and fades - woman, being the one who is out of place, becomes she who struggles with her environment and so becomes the positive charge, the gender of power

man, in the hostile habitat of nature, strove to overcome it. his love and jealousy of woman led him in two directions which seem opposed but in reality are complementary - for love and jealousy always work their ways in secret tandem. on the one hand, his jealousy led him to destroy nature and brought him to the brink of destroying the other nature left, in the one he loved - on the other hand, his love led him to build technology, into which he could disappear to enable the rise of woman. his love continues to build technology, and his jealousy is increasingly turned against himself in destruction - for man’s traditional objects of his violence daily grow less viable - nature because he no longer lives in it, woman because she is becoming strong enough to deflect his anger from her body. man has nowhere to turn but to himself

woman was creator and destroyer to man, but he intuits that what she can destroy in him he can as easily destroy himself. as he increasingly has no external object for his violence, he assumes the role he once assigned to nature and to woman, and makes war against himself

while woman and the feminine are not the same, they are united for a time. the feminine as a force inhabits woman - she is its fullest expression. the feminine - like any force - requires a large, healthy world to inhabit - with nature diminishing and sick, it flees the trees and water and moves into the growing strength of woman’s body. technology too is a force - once behind man and his god, but now the power of man’s body and the environment he inhabits. technology is both an unseen force and the physical expression of that force - its physicality divided between the environment and man. the feminine once was also divided between the environment of nature and the body of woman, but it is now united in her, even as technology was once united in man. the feminine is eternal, as writers diverse in time and thinking have known. so too technology, as a force, lives outside flesh’s limitations

while the forces are eternal, their couplings with their physical hosts are not - the forces couple with and separate from whom they choose. the hosts - being us presently - tend to think the union is permanent, but that is only because our perspective is radically finite. we present human hosts see so little of time - we feel the possession and departure of the inhabiting forces deeply, making us think the forces belong to us rather than we to them. this thinking is an illusion difficult to see, for it is formed from the narrow vision of our eyes, the insatiable longing of our hearts, and the brief flicker of our lives

technology and the feminine iii

book of qlōnq

the prime danger to humanity lies not in man’s disappearance - for this is necessary - but in the possible inability to transfer the negative knowledge of woman to man before she loses it in the flowering glory of her newfound positive power. this danger comes both from woman in her forward thrust, and man in his resistance. yet they both have aids - man has technology and woman has the memory of her body - if man chooses, he can listen to her body’s rhythms though they neither flow evenly with his nor have a tongue he comprehends. through man’s love of woman’s flesh and the aid of the machine, he may absorb her secrets - although if he does, we will not know, for he will not speak them, as those truths do not live in the realm of words or will. once he cannot speak them, his will will have been fulfilled and his centre will be silent

man’s life is no longer his own, as he depends on two others to live - woman is his spirit, technology his will. to find the path to his centre, man must access woman’s flesh, which is no longer simply play and danger for him, but flesh and blood for his survival. his centre is outside himself, in woma - so he must seek her flesh to find it. his circumference, likewise, is outside himself, in the environment of technology he inhabits. when his environment was nature, his will drove him to consume it - he cannot consume his new environment, however, for he has placed his own will in it and that will will not allow consumption of itself, although consumption is its essence. as fire does not consume itself, so technology does not - as fire only consumes that which fuels it, so technology only eats what feeds it - namely, man

man likewise cannot consume woman because she is now too strong for him - he feeds on her even as technology feeds on him, but his feeding is not a diminishment of her, but rather a stimulant. this is the nature of woman - to be enhanced by feeding the world, an act that man feels lessened by. she may now feel pleasure instead of pain through the act of feeding, yet it still is feeding

woman’s feeding sustains man, while technology’s feeding destroys him - together they are creator and destroyer and so make man a unity. with both, he is made into a person, made whole, as he is no longer capable of being whole himself. his dependence is not complete yet, but it is near - he has left himself no room to maneuver, such that his total dependence, closer daily, is his fate

as man disappears as a force unto himself, the tension between technology and the feminine increases. the world’s eros will be between these two forces, not between man and woman.  neither force will speak openly about its erotic relationship, as forces wisely never speak the truth about themselves

woman feels ambivalent about her erotic partner, as she must. she is pleased because of the gifts it brings her. it diminishes her pain and labour while increasing her pleasure and power. she knows that she would not be as she is without its energy which frees her from the bondage of her physical limitations. yet she also knows, often at a deeper level, that this same energy destroys - not her perhaps, but everything she once held close. while she may protest the destruction of her past loves, her very ability to protest is a function of technology’s destruction. while she may mourn their absence, her present pleasure and movement are a growth from the organic decay of her past loves’ death. woman has watched the changes from the fiery recesses of her core, knowing them to be to her advantage, even if worlds and lovers fall in service of her rise. she gradually assimilates the useful material from technology’s slaughtering, as the earth sucks slowly up a tree’s decay

her protest of technology, when articulated, is both in opposition to her partner’s other ways and part of the necessary unity between them. the greatest unity on earth is erotic unity, which is not a union of companionship but struggle - the wild grasping of bodies, the thrusting opposition of spirits, the impossible attempt to break down barriers. woman is a physical-spiritual unity making love to a divided partner - man’s spirit outside his severed body. her opposing pole has been man, but man lives more and more in technology and is used by it, an extension of the will he built into it. there are few men left who attempt to be undivided, and they are either historical accidents, increasingly impossible as time flows forward, or ridiculous. soon, there will be none who even try. do not mistake the beating of the chest, the charm of formulaic words or the relentless crowing of the cock as evidence that man still lives in man. he repeats what he is told, traces the images he sees, and dances to the strings of a force beyond his strength and understanding. man’s nature is now a farce - his heart pumps to the beat of technology

man has always followed a formula, but now his formula is made visible and given flesh - he is forced to live in it and according to it. he becomes the numbers to be plugged into the pre-existing equations that his environment incessantly displays. his freedom is the freedom of math - x is now a 2, now a 3. in his roaming through the universe of numbers, he feels free, not realizing that x demands a particular number in each instance - he simply exists to supply its demand. also, x’s context - the equation in which it resides - is hardly man’s invention, but rather his discovery. he discovers the equations he inhabits and calls them freedom. his feeling and naming are sufficient to his belief

technology and the feminine ii

book of qlōnq

technology increasingly is the male. as man builds himself outside himself, he places his essential strength in his prosthetic and so diminishes himself. as man cannot stand to be diminished, he identifies with his creation and becomes it. he sings its praises in the choir of self-effacement - a choir that has many parts but its song is one. woman makes love to a machine, something she increasingly expects and is satisfied with - as long as the machine’s software is programmed to please her, and free her body from its historic chains

yet man’s will is relentless to the point of death. he builds according to the blueprint of that will a prosthetic for his weakness that will grow until he is its limb. he will become a shoot on technology’s tree, until even the shoot is required no longer, and the tree will rid itself of the unnecessary anachronism spoiling the perfect beauty of its bloom

but man has a second movement on which he now depends. the feminine is his inward movement, his journey to his centre. with the death of god, the feminine is the only spirituality left to man. he tries to turn technology into spirit, but he knows that it is a pale alternative, being only a physical copy of himself. he knows too that he has exhausted his spiritual possibilities, for technology is nothing other than his dead god revealed. he has seen the decaying face of that divine being in the vaporous environment of his concrete, wired world, a sight that demands his demise - for he has already tried his god and found him wanting, which is to say nothing other than he has found himself wanting. since he cannot admit this lack to himself, he tries another avenue of transcendence - a paving of the visible world. yet whether man dreams himself in the invisible realm or the visible, nothing within changes. he just moves blocks around. he is still man

no. technology, despite the outpouring of energy into it, is not the locus of spirit’s growth and future. spirit’s home is outside the walls of flesh, sight, even word, although its power is strengthened through their use. the feminine is man’s spiritual prosthetic necessary for him to be other than beast and reason. technology extends the reaches of his body and mind, and creates a path on which for him to walk outside himself, but it does nothing for his need to travel to his centre. the feminine is this inner path

man’s supreme difficulty is that his only experience with the feminine is through its negation - the feminine existed for him to the extent that he denied it. this negative way was sufficient when he lived closer to his body and was able to unite the extremities of passion in the forge of his creative will. then, he was the positive charge against negative feminine power - but now, with the feminine growing as the only spiritual path on which the living walk, he can no longer in truth displace his negativity on it. so he turns against himself in secret. to accept the feminine as a positive force, man creates a negative to balance it, for the world must have equal charges for it to be. thus man changes himself from a positive to a negative charge and in so doing disappears. technology is the force that allows him to continue to have a presence in the world

man travels down to nothing but needs woman to lead the way. she is long skilled in disappearance and the art of travelling far and silent within herself - her primary landscape has begun at the surface of her flesh and extended inward through unseen forms to an inarticulate core - a world she has wanted man to enter, but he has continually refused. she is the only teacher capable of showing man what he must learn to disappear - man can teach man nothing but technology. but woman cannot express her knowledge in terms or shapes that man naturally understands, for what she knows has been formed on a different path than man’s, a path that does not use man’s language so appears to him as if it has none.  what is popularly called the communication challenges between men and women is a superficial example of the attempt of woman to teach what she is not used to teach and man to learn what he is not used to learn. but do not mistake the surface exchanges in bars and beds for the depths of spiritual struggle. we do not know what it is to transfer charges between opposing poles, but we do know that playing with unprotected, opposing wires in the dark and without knowledge is not a game with any assured outcome. nevertheless, it is a game that must be played, even if the rules remain unwritten

technology and the feminine i

book of qlōnq

the two directions of man’s future evolution are technology and the feminine. all aspects of man’s life - whether physical, social, spiritual or intellectual - cannot be understood outside these two themes. man has been and is evolving toward technology and the feminine in such a way that these two forces combined will be the totality of existence for him. man will not exist outside these two forces  - each will offer him a way of being in the world and an escape from it. man in himself will be nothing

while technology and the feminine can be seen as opposing forces, they also can and should be seen as necessary complements. even historically this is so. the feminine could not have arisen as a unified force without the aid of technology, nor could technology have gained expression without the complicit support of the feminine. but, in the present, now that each force has risen and is growing to dominance, we see that for continued survival and growth, each is necessary for the other. if technology fades, so does the feminine - if the feminine, so technology. man is necessary only as a physical link connecting the two

in the day-to-day workings of society, the feminine often seems opposed to technology, either passively in its apathy to technology’s charms or actively in setting itself against technology’s will. so too technology often seems opposed to the feminine, in its inexorable grinding drive blind to human relation and its making produce by linear manufacture rather than erotic birth. while these oppositions are real and the stress they cause should not be minimized, rather than disproving the necessity of one to the other, they prove it: two forces that require each other for their mutual survival will always be in tension in routine life, sometimes aloofly, sometimes eruptively. the male and the female are the paradigm of this: essential for each other’s existence, they are as often at war as peace. the greater the stress between forces, the greater their need for one another - so with technology and the feminine

man will no longer exist because he will have placed his existence in technology - he will have externalized his power in his artifact. he is driven to do this both because of his self-loathing and his love of woman. he loathes himself because he is at odds with his love, and so lays odds on the gift of technology he is building for her. man hopes that in this gift he makes the odd even, thereby balancing the scale of power. technology is his attempt at gender justice. by placing his strength in something outside himself, he diminishes his power and so makes the weight of woman even. he cannot admit to himself this relationship between his being at odds and his technological enterprise, as admitting it would remove the necessary ruse by which any distortion of power is corrected. also, admission would mean revealing the truth of his demise and man is far too weak for such a strength. instead, he justifies his technology through, by and for power. this self-deception drives him on - were it to collapse he would not build and woman would not rise

man’s artifact is also artifice, but not a subterfuge arising from his conscious mind. rather, technology and the feminine work through him their natures - he simply executes - yes … executes himself

man has now two movements, without which he does not live. technology is his outward movement, his will made visible, time turned artifact. it is the prosthetic necessary for his physical and intellectual survival, but a prosthetic he has made for himself, to compensate for what he feels he lacks

man dreams outward - he dreams outside his body toward the space he wants to fill. he makes for himself limbs - physical shadows of his dreams - that are extensions not just of his body, but also of his mind. these extensions seem to extend his power and move him into the space of his unreality. in this way the surface of his body is stretched beyond his skin, and the distinction between his body and the world is blurred. where does my body end when that which i need to move in the world shifts shape? where does my mind end when that which i need to think in the world flickers in the pale blue light? man is impressed with the surface of his body, a surface that now exists beyond his flesh, daily moving further from his centre

man exists for himself to the extent that he creates an image of himself outside himself. as he does so, convincing himself in the process that he is increasingly alive, he becomes more unreal in and to himself, for he no longer exists apart from his creation nor knows what or who he is. in time, this unreality becomes reality, although the real below the real remains

man once lived in his body, but found the power of his body too great for him, and so began to spit his power out in forms he called his glory. he was only able to live in his body as he consumed nature - but now, with nature far from him, his body has become inhospitable.  man is built to seek the power of nature - the bulk of this power now is outside him. so he seeks what he is not and cannot be. the hint of this awareness is what he mourns

not only does man’s body lie beyond him, but so too his blood, which often lives so far from his sight that he would not recognize it even if he chanced to come upon it under a full, unfiltered sun. oh he might say what is that stain there? and walk on, perhaps mistaking it for paint or makeup. technology both removes his blood to the furthest reaches of the earth - where it can safely live in the home of his imagination - and places it on the screen of entertainment, where it, while in his face, is not a blood of price. all he pays is an admission charge in monetary currency - a fee to access the image of the sanctum of his body - but blood demands payment in kind and detects the discrepancy in his media of exchange. so in his inmost heart man mocks himself

i am led into the sacred spaces of the nuns of knot

the conventual in violet coif veil guimpe, that eccentric and melancholy penitent, leads me through plain shadowy long corridors

is all this underground ... what do i call you conventual?

we are all qlōnq here and so you shall be called

i'm one of you now?

there's no one but the one of what you are

right - so is all this underground?

is all this underground what qlōnq

this long shadowy nondescript corridor - is it under the ground?

the nuns of knot are called to live in the earth and be the earth and speak it

and none of the nuns have been above the earth or seen the sun for four hundred years?

the nuns of knot have been here and under and waiting

waiting for what?

we come to a large cavern lit by torches and a giant ebony shining egg in the middle and around five female whonyms two female bonobos two female wombats and two female grasshoppers, all in violet coif veil guimpes, their hands paws and pedipalps raised toward the egg and an eerie but pleasant humming from the circle rises to the unseen but presumed ceiling filling the vast subterranean air with haunting auras of sonic otherworldliness

sit in the empty space to your right qlōnq qlōnq says

i join as qlōnq does and raise my hands so as not to be unnatural and join also the humming and as we crescendo together into an unparalleled luminescent auric glory the egg rises into the lofty darkness and merges with it before slowly descending and settling once again in our midst and i feel during this that i have been cleansed from the inside out of all my dysfunctions and pains and a purity has taken their place inside that is not mine but infuses me and replaces me

afterwards a few qlōnqs and i are lounging and i or qlōnq says - that's quite impressive what the egg did

qlōnq says - this is what egg does

qlōnq or i says - this isn't what eggs do

qlōnq says - egg does this and has always done this and this is our egg - egg and book are our life and without them we would die

what is book qlōnq says

egg has always been with us but book has not always been with us - it appears in room of book long after we arrive

which year?

we don't know years - we only know 1649 the year we entered

i thought you said 1649 was the year you had your last visitor

it is the same year

who was the visitor

we are the visitors

and now i am

we are qlōnq

may i see book?

come to book

and qlōnqs lead qlōnq to room of book and room is small and book is large but of not too many words and i show it to you soon in five installments and after i'll tell you of the discussion of the qlōnqs of book and why it is sacred to them or us or them and how it's emerging of my utmost importance in circle of qlōnq and the serendipity of my arrival and my necessity to plans far beyond my expected fate
